This information applies to GPAcalculator and its educational tools.
Our purpose
GPAcalculator helps students understand how grades and credits turn into a grade point average. We provide calculators, worked examples and practical explanations so a result can be checked and connected to a realistic academic plan.
Independent educational project
We are not a university, registrar, admissions office, scholarship provider or credential evaluator. We do not access student records, certify transcripts or determine academic eligibility. Names of institutions in examples identify the source of a policy, not a partnership or endorsement.
How the tools work
The calculators use browser-based arithmetic and visible inputs. A student chooses a grading scale and provides the course grades and credits. Our presets are labeled starting points; institutions can use different grade values, exclusions, repeat rules and display precision.
Research and editorial approach
We consult primary institutional explanations for policy examples and distinguish those examples from general arithmetic. We avoid universal admissions promises and unsupported percentage conversions. Guides link to relevant policies where a specific institutional distinction is discussed.
Corrections and feedback
Use our contact page to report an error, an unclear label or an accessibility problem. Include the tool, non-sensitive sample inputs, expected result and the policy source where relevant. Please do not send transcripts, student identification numbers or login credentials.
Using the content responsibly
Treat results as planning estimates. Verify official reporting requirements with the institution receiving your record. Changes in a university policy or a course syllabus may affect whether an example applies to your situation.
